The 49th District 

The 49th Assembly District was created after the latest Census in 2020. The District comprises large portions of West Chicago, Batavia and Bartlett.  It also has significant or fragmented portions of several other towns including: Aurora, North Aurora, Winfield, Warrenville, Hanover Park, Naperville, Streamwood, Wayne, South Elgin, Elgin and Geneva. 

The District is home to the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, located just outside Batavia, Illinois. It is a United States Department of Energy national laboratory specializing in high-energy particle physics. It also includes the James Pate Philip State Park and several forest preserves and parks.
