I just love local news outlets. @westchicagovoice always does an incredible job of keeping us Wegos in the loop with community happenings. When the fire at at the Main Park Apartments capped the Thanksgiving holiday for several West Chicago families leaving over 100 individuals homeless, WC Voice made sure everyone knew the best way to provide assistance to those in need.

1. Brand new items can be dropped off at New Hope United Methodist Church @newhope_united_methodist in West Chicago (643 E Washington St).
2. Any used items can be dropped off at St. Vincent’s downtown West Chicago.

3. Monetary gifts are also accepted. The Voice shared:
“Financial gifts are needed for these families so they can begin again. They need money for rent, and security deposits (although DuPage County has helped in some capacity with that need, and their former landlord has refunded most of their security deposits). 100% of Anything donated between now and December 31 will go towards fire victims. – https://bit.ly/wegofiredonation”

It’s a blessing to be generous, joyful, and intentional in our giving this year. Government has its limitations. Let’s put ‘neighbors helping neighbors’ in action.
