After Sunday Mass, my team hosted Carnitas & Community at Chepa’s Grocery. I enjoyed getting to meet some of the beautiful people that make up the local Hispanic community. This vibrant group adds so much needed diversity and economic growth to West Chicago. Their entrepreneurship and strong family values are admirable.
We were able to help nearly 100 families with their Sunday lunch, partner with a thriving small business, and learn what locals thought about current issues through a community survey. If we're going to chase our dreams, it’s essential we partner with local small businesses: identify their needs, source solutions, and offer incentives for growth.
